AfricaCERT, the African forum of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs), will facilitate a 1-day workshop to promote establishment of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) in National Research and Education Networks (NRENs). The workshop is organised with WACREN in a program of the Africa Training Initiative (ATI) to establish the frameworks and build capacity to secure African NRENs. The event takes place on Saturday October 15 2016 and is co-located with the 3rd WACREN regional workshop – Building resilient DNS Infrastructure and Introduction to DNSSEC Targeted at personnel and teams responsible for security in their campus networks and NRENs the objectives include Better understanding of Internet threats and the need for an effective way to balance academic research and educational missions with the need for computer security.
