The West and Central African Research and Education Network (WACREN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Eyouléki T. G. Palanga as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective April 1, 2025, for a term of four (4) years. This appointment follows a CEO recruitment interview conducted by the WACREN Board of Directors on March 27, 2025. Dr. Palanga brings extensive experience in the research and education networking community, along with a deep understanding of the digital transformation needs of higher education and research institutions in the region. Dr. Palanga was the immediate past Board Chair of WACREN. His leadership is expected to strengthen WACREN’s mission to build and operate high-capacity networks and provide advanced digital services for research and education across West and Central Africa.
