In a vibrant display of collaborative learning and technological innovation, approximately thirty educators convened for a three-day teaching marathon at the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) digital campus in Cotonou. The focal point of this event was e-learning, aimed at empowering teacher-researchers from the Institut National Supérieur de Technologie Industrielle (INSTI) in Lokossa to produce and seamlessly integrate their courses into the PEUPL platform.

The Educathon, a fusion of education and hackathon-style collaboration, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of educators as they delved into the intricacies of digital pedagogy. Spearheaded by experts like Claude Lishou from CAMES, the educators surpassed the initial goal of creating 65 courses, ultimately crafting over 70 comprehensive modules. Through collaborative efforts focused on course scripting and platform implementation, teachers embraced a culture of knowledge sharing and pedagogical innovation within their communities.

A Highlight: Awards Ceremony Recognizing Outstanding Educators

To culminate the Educathon, an awards ceremony celebrated the exemplary contributions of four educators, each recognized for their outstanding course designs and pedagogical excellence:

– Mr. Tchada Dorothée (INSTI) received accolades for his comprehensive General English course.
– Mr Vissoh Léandre (INSTI) was honoured for his meticulous course on Mechanical Transmissions.

– Mr. Konnon Miton Abel (UNSTIM, INSTI) stood out for his insightful Numerical Calculation and Optimization course.
– Mr. Edou Jonas (INSTI) was commended for his engaging course in Electromagnetism and Applications.

The awards recognised individual achievements and served as a testament to the collective dedication towards enhancing the quality and accessibility of education through digital platforms.
