Following the recent announcement of the passing of Dr. Boubakar Barry, the Board of Directors of WACREN has convened and passed a resolution to appoint Dr Eyouléki Tcheyi Gnadi Palanga as the Interim CEO of WACREN with immediate effect. Dr. Palanga has extensive leadership experience and a profound understanding of the research and education network (REN) community. He has served as the CEO of TogoRER (Togo NREN) and was instrumental in connecting the NREN to the WACREN backbone in 2018. He served on the WACREN Board and was elected Board Chair in 2021. Under his leadership, WACREN will continue to focus on its corporate vision and strategic direction, prioritising the implementation of projects undertaken by WACREN, enhancing the interconnection and collaboration of NRENs in our region, and ensuring the smooth running of the WACREN Secretariat.
