AfricaConnect3

AfricaConnect3 (AC3) is the third phase of the AfricaConnect project. It builds on the success of its predecessor projects: AfricaConnect and AfricaConnect2, in supporting the creation, development and use of advanced, reliable Internet connectivity for the teaching, learning and research communities of Africa.

Africa Digital Campus

The Africa Digital Campus (ADC) is a two-year e-learning project coordinated by WACREN and the IRD and piloted in two Francophone countries - Burkina Faso and Benin. The ADC is financed by the French Development Agency (AFD) with funds delegated by the European Union within the framework of the Programme entitled - Connectivity and Digital Solutions to Strengthen the Resilience to the Crisis of Education, Health and MSMEs in the Member States of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP).

TANDEM

The TransAfrican Network Development (TANDEM) aimed at creating the favourable conditions for WACREN (West and Central African Research and Education Network), enabling the Regional REN to draw maximum benefit from the forthcoming AfricaConnect2 project and ensuring its integration into the global Research and Education networking community and its long-term sustainability.

Magic

Magic (Middleware for collaborative Applications and Global Virtual Communities) aims at establishing a set of agreements for participating world regions to consolidate/complete middleware for a marketplace of services and real-time applications to benefit global science communities.

Sci-GaIA

The Energizing Scientific Endeavour through Science Gateways and e-Infrastructures in Africa (Sci-GaIA) was aimed at producing clearly structured guides and educational documents that can be used to train and support representatives of NRENs. Communities of Practice (CoPs), and, importantly, to get universities to develop Science Gateways and e-Infrastructures in Africa.

AfricaConnect2

AfricaConnect2 (AC2), a project funded by the European Union, aimed to support the development, consolidation and use of high-capacity national and regional research and education networks (NRENs) across Africa and set up connections to the pan-European GÉANT network, thus providing the African research and education (R&E) communities with unrivalled opportunities for global collaborations.
