So far, in this COVID-19 pandemic period, WACREN has been able to maintain connectivity, largely, and will continue to do so. We have ensured the operation of the CENIC Network Operations Centre and continue to serve our members and their communities.
After assessing the situation of the pandemic in Ghana where our Secretariat is located, WACREN has asked staff members to resume working from the office partially; they work a few days at the office and other days from home. We have built a business continuity plan which accommodates eventuality like this pandemic, therefore work is ongoing smoothly and where there is an unforeseen circumstance, our staff move in swiftly to rectify the situation. We will continue to maintain our network infrastructure and services to the best of ability and capacity.
WACREN NOC, on daily basis continue to monitor and assess network traffic levels and make changes, when need be, to ensure reliable operations, with little or no ramifications on our Member NRENs. In case of any disruption, please contact noc@wacren.net or escalate to secretariat@wacren.net for swift action.
We are providing reference to webinars, resources and others leads to our community to minimise the negative impact of the pandemic on them. These include the following:
We at WACREN hope that you and your loved ones are in good health and safe from COVID-19. Together, we will survive this situation and bounce back to normality.
