Course instructors supported by the Africa Digital Campus project funded by the European Commission through Agence Française de Développement have undergone training on using the WACREN mobile lecture capture kit to develop course video materials as part of their online course delivery workflow.

The Kit is an element in a suite of hardware and software technology developed by WACREN in collaboration with NORDUnet to support the quality delivery of digital education in our region. The suite includes a cloud-based video conference platform – eduMEET, a cloud-based video management service – the WACREN video portal and the mobile capture kit. Access to the services will be managed under our identity and access management system to ensure safe access.

In early August 2024, participants in Cotonou learned the basics of the WACREN Video Kit, including its features, audiovisual recording techniques, basic video editing, and options for video storage and distribution.

The workshop aligned with the broader goals of the ADC project by developing and streamlining e-learning processes, ensuring improved production, sharing, and access to educational resources in pilot countries like Benin and Burkina Faso.

Following the workshops, teachers will integrate the WACREN Video Kits into their daily teaching activities with support from WACREN. The ADC project is making significant strides towards a more connected and digitally empowered educational environment by equipping teachers with these essential video course development skills needed for a 21st-century learning environment.

A similar workshop is planned for Burkina Faso.
