Ghana’s chief city – Accra, will be the venue for the next WACREN Conference. This was announced by Dr Boubakar Barry, the CEO of WACREN, at the third AGM for GARNET (a Ghanaian NREN), in Tamale, the northern part of Ghana. The announcement was greeted with enthusiasm as it indicates WACREN’s commitment to enhancing its relationship with the Ghanaian research and education community (a heavy user of WACREN services) while using it as a model to spur the interest of other national communities in the WACREN region. GARNET has expressed readiness to host the flagship event. WACREN and GARNET will sign an MoU to detail the roles of each party in order to deliver a memorable, impactful Conference in Accra, next year. The last WACREN Conference was held last April in Abidjan. Share thisFacebookXLinkedInWhatsAppEmail
