The heads of WACREN and the Regional Office for West Africa of Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) have met to chart a course for cooperation between the two organisations for the benefit of the higher education and research community in the WACREN region. The CEO of WACREN, Dr. Boubakar Barry met with Prof. Ouidad Tebbaa, the Regional Director of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in Dakar to commence the cooperation discussion. The two organisations share similar aspirations and commitment to the development of research and education and are in the process of drawing synergies based on strength and opportunities between the two. Reputed as one of the largest associations of higher education and research institutions in the world, AUF has a huge number of institutions under its umbrella who could benefit from the high-speed data communications network and other services provided by WACREN, to enhance research, teaching and learning in those institutions.
