WACREN in colloboration with DFN (German NREN), RENATER (French NREN) will organise a day workshop on eduroam. eduroam provides simple, easy, secure connectivity to students and researchers from thousands of hotspots across more than 100 countries. Currently, five countries (Ghana, Nigeria, Benin and Togo) have connected to the global WiFi authenticator in the WACREN region. Hundreds of thousands of students and researchers and other personnel in the education space in West and Central Africa are connected to eduroam. The objective of the upcoming Workshop is to promote eduroam as a service of relevance to national RENs in our region. At the Workshop, technical experts from some European NRENs will share insights on the requirements for the deployment of eduroam, as well share some benefits borne out of their deployment of eduroam in their jurisdiction. The Workshop is expected to help NRENs to define a clear way forward and drive the actions of NRENs regarding their deployment of eduroam. FacebookXLinkedInWhatsAppEmail
