PHA was established to leverage the skills of those with experience in public health to improve the health of populations in Africa. Initial work has focused on conducting surveys and supporting online courses in peer review and open publishing, together with the West and Central African Research and Education Network (WACREN) and Peoples-Praxis, leading to the development of the Coalition for Open Access Publishing of Public Health in Africa (COPPHA). PHA now needs to develop a strategy for future growth and impact, with leadership and a governance structure that is fit for purpose and forward-looking. To help achieve this, we seek interest from those committed to the development of public health in Africa to join a volunteer working group that will advise and potentially become part of PHA in this development. We enthusiastically invite academics, public health professionals, public health organizations, course facilitators, open science advocates, early career researchers, and members of open science networks, as well as the COPPHA community, to join us in redefining PHA’s governance and strategic direction. Please complete this form to express your interest, either as an individual or on behalf of an organization. The deadline for submission is May 20, 2025.
