LIBSENSE, RUFORUM make strides in partnership towards Agric data repository LIBSENSE and Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) have kick-started plans towards developing a data repository for African universities. Among other things, the planned repository will enable agriculture research data sharing and open access publishing. It will help researchers and decision-makers make evidence-based decisions and allow RUFORUM’s stakeholders to share data and deliver cutting-edge digital services to higher education institutions at scale. A needs assessment survey conducted by the two institutions is currently underway. Giving highlights on the modalities of the survey at the WACREN 2022 Conference Reloaded (Community Webinar Sessions), Nada Musa of RUFORUM mentioned that the identification of stakeholders, determination of the roles of those who will interact with the repository as well as the format of the research instruments, are some of the key issues in the needs assessment. LIBSENSE is a pan-African and pro-African community focusing on advancing open science on the continent, while RUFORUM is an association of universities interested in building capacity in agriculture.
