Women in WACREN – English Coordinator

WACREN invites applications for the Women in WACREN (WiW) English Coordinator role to support our mission of empowering women in STEM across Anglophone Africa. This full time internship position is perfect for dynamic and passionate individuals seeking to champion gender inclusion and community growth.

About the Role

The WiW English Coordinator will facilitate programme delivery, communication, and community activities across Anglophone countries. You will play a key role in strengthening the WiW network, supporting training events, mentorship programmes, and strategic outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Women in WACREN activities across Francophone countries.
  • Support the design and implementation of capacity-building programmes.
  • Engage national communities, NRENs, institutions, and partner organisations.
  • Organise events, workshops, webinars, and mentoring programmes.
  • Maintain communication through newsletters, reports, and community updates.
  • Support with creation of social media content targeted at Francophone audiences.
  • Collect data and prepare periodic reports on progress and participation.
  • Represent WiW in meetings, conferences, and community events

Eligibility Criteria

  • Excellent proficiency in English; French is an added advantage.
  • Background in STEM, Education, Communications, Gender Studies, or related fields.
  • Experience in programme coordination, advocacy, or community engagement.
  • Strong organisational, writing, and team collaboration skills.

Role Details

  • Duration: 1 year, renewable.
  • Focus Areas: Community coordination, mentorship support, communication, reporting, and programme delivery.
  • Stipend: Competitive monthly allowance.
