Consultation workshop for the development of the Niger REN

The work of the consultation workshop on the implementation of the National Network of Education and Research of Niger began Tuesday, November 15, 2011, under the patronage of HE Mamadou Diallo Youba, Minister of secondary and higher education and Scientific Research.

Before the opening address by HE Mr Minister, Boubakar Barry has located the process of implementation of the Niger REN in the overall process of the formation of national entities in West Africa and Central Africa.

Dakar, March 25, 2011 - SenRER, the first NOC of WACREN

At the joint workshop WACREN-RENATER-AAU cooperation, National Network for Education and Research of Senegal (SnRER) was designated as the first Network Operations Center (NOC) of WACREN. For this, a letter of intent has been exchanged between the Chairman of the Board of WACREN, Tiemoman KONE, and the representative of the Executive Committee snRER Alex Corenthin, replacing the National Coordinator Dr. Ibrahima Niang prevented.

The mandate of the WACREN Senra is intended to implement the partnership WACREN-RENATER.

Following the meeting of representatives of 11 countries in West Africa and Central Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo) in initiative of Research and Education Networking Unit (RENU) of the Association of African Universities (AAU), it was taken to the establishment of the first Board of Directors of WACREN, composed of nine (9 ) members and presided by Professor Tiemoman KONE.
