The eI4Africa third workshop “Leveraging Science Gateways & Virtual Research Communities in African e-Science” is taking place on March 19, 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria. Organised by the West and Central African Research and Education Network (WACREN) and the UbuntuNet Alliance in collaboration with Sigma Orionis and all the eI4Africa consortium members, the workshop is co-hosted by the Center for Atmospheric Research (CAR), an activity centre of the Nigerian National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), and the Eko-Konnect Research and Education Initiative.
The workshop’s main objectives are to:
Enhance collaboration among West & Central African and European scientists
Raise awareness on the regional research and education networks and their transformative potential
Propose alternate means of conducting research and delivering services
Demonstrate the relevance of e-Infrastructures and advanced networks
Provide a forum for discussions and debates on recent development and perspectives in the field
UbuntuNet-Connect is the Annual Conference of UbuntuNet Alliance that focuses on research and education networking activities in Africa. It is organized by UbuntuNet Alliance and hosted by member NRENs.
