TogoREN is born

After several years of collaboration, the TogoREN  was finally born on  July 13, 2012 at the University of Lome in the presence of the academic communities of Lome and Kara, and officials of private higher education and research managers in Togo.



The opening of the seminar was chaired by Professor Gbeassor,  former Minister of Higher Education and Research and current Director of Research. 

The Gabon is implementing its NREN

The Ministry of National Education, Higher Education,  Scientific Research, Innovation and Culture of Gabon, in collaboration with the Association of African Universities  on Feb 20-21, 2012 organized a consultation workshop on the establishment of the National Network of Education and Research (GabonREN)  at the University Omar Bongo, Libreville.Please visit  www.gabonren.org.uk.tc   to learn more.

NigerREN founded this 22 december 2011

NigerREN has been founded today 22 December 2011 in Niamey.   The Founding General Assembly was opened this morning by the Minister of Education and Scientific Research of Niger and attended by about 60 participants.

 

Guests included Boubakar Barry of RENU (AAU), Anicet Andjouat of GabonREN, the Director General of the African Institute of Computer Science (IAI) in Libreville (Gabon), the Director General of the IAI-Cameroon and the Director General of IAI-Togo.  Heads of 19 higher education and research institutions signed the NigerREN membership form and became NigerREN's founding members, after discussion and adoption of the statutes.

Establishment of RITER, the NREN of Cote d'Ivoire.

The 28 and 29 November 2011, in collaboration with the Association of African Universities, a workshop under the patronage of the President of the Republic, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and co-chair Minister of Posts and ICT, took place in Abidjan.
