Building resilient DNS Infrastructure and Introduction to DNSSEC Workshop - Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso - Oct 10-14 2016

WACREN organizes its third regional capacity building workshop in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from the   10 - 14 October 2016

The workshop will be organized in collaboration with the Burkina Faso Research and Education Network (FasoREN), the University of Ougadougou and AfricaConnect2.

The workshop will be held in English

Goal:  The 5-day DNSSEC awareness and hands on-training workshop on resilient DNS infrastructure will include a refresher on guiding principles and best practices for building campus networks.    

Targeted at network/systems administrators and engineers from campus networks and NRENs,  it will cover configuring nameservers, managing forward and reverse zones, and basic security mechanisms to DNSSEC concepts, configurations, and operations for authentication of transactions and integrity of DNS data.

Requirements:
A laptop with wireless capability, understanding of general networking concepts and knowledge of UNIX/Linux 

Logistics:

  • All participants will have to secure funds for their travel, including visa fees where applicable.
  • International participants will be provided with free accommodation (from 9 - 15 October 2016)
  • Lunches and coffee breaks will be provided for all participants for the duration of the workshop.
